Indiana Athletics Marketing

With Indiana, a majority of my work revolved around sponsorship negotiation and activation. "Negotiation" is a strong word, as every business in Bloomington wanted to get their branding inside an athletic facility.

I was able to spearhead one very successful sponsorship activation during my time there before the COVID shutdown. Kilroy's on Kirkwood (KOK) is arguably the biggest campus bar, especially since it is right across from Sample Gates on historic Kirkwood. KOK releases pop-culture shirts every Thursday, which I myself have between 40-50 of. These shirts typically consisted of something along the lines of: Imagine the Friends tv show logo, now just replace every letter with KILROYS and you have a KOK shirt!

In an attempt to maximize student attendance at women's volleyball games, I approached KOK with an idea: create these same shirts, but to give away at the women's volleyball games to students.

This allowed students (even those under 21) to get a free KOK shirt, and resulted in unprecedented success as the student section was at capacity for every home game that season. (And a two-fer for me since I got the shirts too)

I did dabble with the designing side of things too. Attached are some graphics I either created or assisted with. With IU being such a strong brand, much of our designs did follow a strict template, but every so often we would let our freak flags fly.
